RMK wanted this building to be used for hosting visitors, hold open houses and children’s events, and give city residents information about hiking trails and forestry. The client’s vision was that the first storey should be the forest understory: ascending through the building levels, it transition to the treetops. Architects approached it in slightly different manner; various types of wood found in Estonia were put to good use in furnishings (mostly pine and birch) together with varying the wood´s finishing and texture.
